It's printed on the label of the outdoor unit. Using the wrong refrigerant damages the compressor, so we always check before charging.
How often should gas be topped up?
Never, in a sealed system. If yours needs regular topping up, there's a leak that should be repaired instead.
Can a leak always be repaired?
Most joint and flare leaks yes. A leaking evaporator coil is a bigger job and we'll tell you honestly whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
